Country Hill Montessori is an establilshed montessori school with two campuses: one in Fair Oaks, and the other in Citrus Heights, California. We offer the best social and academic environment for children ages two through twelve. Full and part-time toddler programs, preschool, pre-kindergarten, kindergarten and first grade classes are available, as well as before and after school programs for children attending elementary schools in our community. We currently bus to and from the following elementary schools: Earl Leggette, Pershing, Green Oaks, Oak View, and Trajan.
Our staff is the absolute best! The teachers provide children a family environment by showing them love, compassion and understanding. They encourage them to learn through hands-on experiences and constant exploration of their environment. They encourage the child's independence and creativity. Although we are known throughout the community for our academic success (95% of our children enter the GATE or Rapid Reader programs in our local elementary schools), we foster a whole environment, balancing the child's academic growth with a fun, relaxed curriculum in which the children are happy, loved, and free to be themselves.
For nearly three decades, we have welcomed students and parents from all over the Sacramento County into our school. Our goal has always been to provide the children a fun, educational environment in which they feel safe and free to learn and to explore.
What makes a school "Montessori?" A Montessori school is an education environment that works by providing children with a respectful, nurturing atmosphere and a "hands-on" approach to learning. Since most Montessori schools are privately owned and operated, no two are alike. Some people believe Montessori schools are too strict an environment, while others believe they're too open and free. We believe we've found the balance between rules and freedom.
